Harry felt very strongly about the importance of buying American-made products.

Harry retired in 1990, and they moved to Eveleth in 2009. In 2011, they moved to Warroad and enjoyed being around their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Harry enjoyed going to hunting camp to hunt deer or just to enjoy being out there with the boys and girls. He also enjoyed watching baseball games, basketball games and any games that the grandchildren and great-grandchildren were playing. Harry also enjoyed watching the Twins and Vikings play on TV, and he loved eating at buffets, especially meeting Rock at the Golden Corral in Fargo after his VA appointments. Harry and Edna were honorary Senior Citizens of Tower, MN.
