Frank Darrell Nystrom

A memorial service for Frank Nystrom of Roseau will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at the Moe Lutheran Church in Roseau at 11:00 a.m.  Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the services at the church.

Frank Darrell Nystrom was born on April 22, 1939 in Roseau, Minnesota to Inga (Brenhaug) and Arvid Nystrom.  He attended school in Roseau where played for the Roseau Ram Hockey Team.  He graduated in 1957.

Frank married Lois Bird on October 25, 1958 at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Skime.  They resided in Roseau and raised their two children, Bruce and Shelly.

Frank drove truck for Byfuglien Trucking, Cenex, and Land O’ Lakes.  He was also a manager of Traffic Control at Polaris Industries.

Frank enjoyed deer hunting and fishing.  He loved playing cards, visiting with friends, and making people laugh.  He had a great sense of humor.  He enjoyed watching Roseau Ram hockey, especially when his granddaughters were playing.  He also was the manager of the Clover Leaf hockey Team in Roseau.

Frank Nystrom passed away on Sunday, May 10 at the LifeCare Roseau Manor.  He was 76 years old.

Frank is survived by his wife Lois of Roseau; children, Bruce (Susan) Nystrom of Roseau and Shelly (Mike) Lane of Roseau; grandchildren Kelsey (Keith) Vatnsdal, Kursten (Jake) Kennedy, Kylie Lane, Heather Johnson, Luke (Toni) Olson, and Danny Tuggle; great-grandchildren, Spencer, Evie, Laura, Joran, Carter and Jaxon.  Frank is also survived by his sisters, Eldri (Dennis) Vatnsdal, and Esther Lisell, and sisters-in-law Elaine Nystrom and Marlys (Bob) Vick.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Orville.
