A bright light and a woman who loved life and her children more than anyone would know, was taken to heaven on March 14, 2017.

Esther was born on July 16, 1941 to Edger and Yula Castle on a farm in Badger, Minnesota, where she rode her horse Champ. She attended Badger High School and married Frank Burkel at the age of sixteen. She was very devoted to Jesus Christ and trusted in him completely, even after the loss of her daughter, Pamela and son, Mark. She moved to Perham, Minnesota on a turkey farm and raised three children, Beth, Martin, and Doug.

She was divorced and attended a technical institute with a two-year accounting degree. She married Eugene Perrine and had another son Zachary. She was very involved in her church, taught Sunday School, homeschooled Zach and was a part time telephone operator. They moved to Marysville, Washington. She enjoyed praying and reading the Word of God, doing taxes, sewing and quilting, gardening, reading, hiking in the mountains, traveling and cruises.

She is survived by her best friend and husband of 33 years, Eugene Perrine, who compassionately cared for her through many stages of lung disease.; four children: Beth Wasche (Mike), Martin Burkel, Douglas Burkel, and Zachary Perrine (Meaghan); six grandchildren: Nathan and Nicholas Wasche, Thomas Sluhoski, Amanda Cutterall, Amber Ramsey, Kiara Perrine; eight great grandchildren, three siblings; Gladys Napper, Donald Castle (Barbara), Elhue Castle (Evelyn), sister-in-law; Peggy Castle; and many other nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her children; Pamela and Mark Burkel; her brother; Edger Castle Jr.; her parents; Edger and Yula Castle; her brother-in-law; Blake Napper; nephew; Darwin Napper; niece; Ellen Smith. She will be remembered as a woman who loved her family with a great deal of passion and devotion.

A Funeral Service for Esther M. Perrine of Marysville, WA, formerly of Badger, MN will be held on Monday, March 20, 2017 at 4:00PM at Rose Free Lutheran Church in Roseau, MN. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at Rose Free Lutheran Church in Roseau, MN from 5-7PM with a prayer service at 6PM. There will be a video tribute of Esther's life that will be played on Sunday night, and also starting at 3:00PM on Monday prior to the funeral service. Interment will be held on Badger City Cemetery in Badger, MN.

Esther passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at the age of 75.
