Delane O. Peterson

September 27, 1934 ~ December 4, 2017 (age 83) 83 Years Old

A Memorial Service for Delane O. Peterson of Baudette, MN will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 11:00AM at the Church of the Living Water in Baudette, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Delane Olga Peterson was born on September 27, 1934 to Ludvig and Lillian (Kipena) Krekula, in Lead, South Dakota and lived on Poor Man’s Road. Her family moved to New York Mills, MN when she was in the 3rd Grade and she graduated from high school there. Delane meet William Peterson in New York Mills and they married June 18, 1952 in Wadena, MN, they were blessed with seven children. They lived in New York Mills, MN until moving to Lake of the Woods County in the fall of 1976. Delane had numerous jobs including working at Sportsman’s Lodge, Pioneer Nursing Home in Baudette, MN and Marvin Windows and Doors in Warroad, MN.

Delane enjoyed drawing, playing accordion, gardening, sewing, and spending time with her grandkids. After a long battle with Alzheimer’s, Delane entered heaven on December 4, 2017 to join family and friends who have passed before her. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and will be remembered for her kind and gentle heart.

Delane is preceded in death by her husband, William Peterson; her parents; siblings, Raymond, Phyllis, Bernice, Melvin and Sallie.

She is survived by her children, Nita Scott of Viking, MN, Dennis Peterson of Baudette, MN, Ross Peterson of Baudette, MN, Resa Christopher of Panama City, FL, Dana Peterson of Minneapolis, MN, Jesse (Sandy) Peterson of Ray, MN, Jeffery Peterson of Ray, MN; 24 grandchildren; and brother, Ervin Krekula of Cameron, WI.
