Deborah Grace Heaton

Memorial services for Deborah G. Heaton of Warroad, MN will be held on Friday, March 20th at 10 AM at the Warroad Community Church.  Visitation will be on Thursday from 5-7 PM with a 7:00 prayer service at Helgeson Funeral Home in Warroad.  Interment will be at the Lakeview Cemetery in Big Fork, MN at a later date.  Deborah passed away on March 13th at the Altru Hospital in Grand Forks at the age of 56.

Deborah Grace Heaton passed away on March 13, 2015 at the Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND at the age of 56.

Deborah was born on March 17, 1958 in Chicago, IL to Henrietta (Baker) and William Frank.  She lived there until she moved to Bigfork, MN in 1973.  She was in high school when she met the love of her life, Lee Heaton.  They were married on January 26, 1976.  Lee served in the U.S. Army, while he was stationed in Germany.  They had two children, Jennifer and Terrance.  After moving back to Bigfork for a short time, they settled in southern Maine until 1988.  From there, they moved to Warroad, MN to help her mother take care of her father.  Deb also took care of her mother at home after her cancer diagnoses until her death.  Deb made a name for herself by becoming a volunteer EMT.  She made many friends and always felt fortunate for every one of them.  She was most recently employed at the Warroad Senior Living Center as their receptionist.

Deb was always intensely dedicated to her family.  Her grandchildren were the light of her soul.  She enjoyed being at the park with them, having ice cream cones and being at their activities and games.  She enjoyed riding motorcycles, spending time with friends, fishing and being a member of the Women of the Wilderness.

She is survived by her husband, Lee of Warroad;  children, Jennifer (Dana) Paulson of Grand Forks, ND and Terrance Heaton of Warroad; grandchildren, Jayden, khloee, Lailah, and Bjorn.  She was preceded in death by her parents.
