Anna Marie Rasmusson

August 6, 1925 ~ June 20, 2017 (age 91) 91 Years Old

Anna Marie Rasmusson was born on August 6, 1925 to Henry and Mabel (Waples) Johnson of Missouri Valley, IA. They lived in town for five years then moved to rural Harrisson County and lived there until she graduated from high school. She then continued her education to become a school teacher. She continued that until she married Harold Allen Van Cleave in December, 1947. She became a housewife and mother of three children, Barbara Ann, Susan Marie, and Michael Allen.

In 1959 Harold was killed in a farm accident. Anna sold the farm and returned to teaching. She bought a house in Missouri Valley, IA and started to study the Bible. Her favorite scripture was John 3:16. In 1962 Anna was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Then in 1966 she met and married George Rasmusson. They moved to Badger, MN. George was a carpenter by trade but they both had a passion for buying and selling antiques.

Anna was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Harold Van Cleave and George Rasmusson, daughter Barb Stanislov; half-brothers and sisters Harly, Mildred, Murtle, and full-sisters two twins that died at birth and Ruth. She is survived by her daughter Susan and son Michael; eight grandchildren, Dan, Derek, Sam, Joe, Amanda, Marla, Anna, and Nissa; eleven great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Anna passed away on June 20, 2017.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 2 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Roseau, MN.  Interment at Badger City Cemetery.
