Russell Charles Franzman, 82, of Grygla, MN, died, Tuesday September 13, 2005 in the Warroad Care Center. He was born October 8, 1922 in Grygla, MN to Alfred and Laura (Bucholz) Franzman. He attended grade school in Grygla and graduated from High School in Goodridge. Russell was a US Army Veteran of World War II serving as a sharpshooter.
He married Marian Johnson June 6, 1960 in Thief River Falls. Russell and Marian lived on a farm near Grygla. He was a farmer for the majority of his life. He was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Grygla and member of the American Legion for 45 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Arda Anderson.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Marian of Grygla, MN; his two daughters, Lori (Dean Lislegard) Franzman of Roseau, MN; Darlene (Peter) Kozlick of Hanover Park, IL; two grandchildren, Laura Franzman and Dylan Kozlick; two sisters, Iris Most of Prescott, WI; Arlette (Cheslie) Ruud of Gatzke, MN; sister in-law, Helen Glawe; brother in-law, James Johnson; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until the 2:00 PM Funeral Service Friday September 16, 2005 in Grace Lutheran Church in Grygla, MN. Burial in St. Olaf’s Cemetery in Grygla, MN.
